LANDS mini-album

Just doing a quick update before I head off to school. But a mini-album for LANDS (Akanishi Jin) has been announced to be released on January 13th, 2010 and will have eight tracks, which includes the track of the recently released single BANDAGE. The mini-album is titled Olympus and no other information is available at this time. The usual online stores have it up for pre-order already and it looks to be only one version of the album, but there is a first press item, which is a 24 page booklet.

So it looks like Jin fans still have a lot to look forward to in the next couple of months.

Can someone offer a reason as to why Johnny is doing this?
I'm not hating on Jin or anything, but I'm just slightly confused as to why Jin would get one (is this really all for the movie? Yamapi/Kame didn't get one for theirs...).

Actually it would be just for the movie. It's not uncommon for Johnny's that have roles as singers in movies or dramas to release singles for them under the name of the artist, which for Jin's case is LANDS.

I think this is the first time there's been a mini-album release but the man in charge of all the music and songs is incredibly popular for producing some of the biggest names in J-rock so I'm sure that is also part of why we're getting this release.
